Tree Planting in Ferrea

Trees offer numerous environmental benefits. They provide shade, improve air quality, and contribute to a more aesthetically pleasing landscape. Fruit trees offer the added bonus of providing fresh, locally grown produce.

However, despite MBSA actively promoting tree planting through initiatives such as the “Shah Alam Trees for Life” program, there are regulations in place that prohibit residents from planting trees on public spaces - at least not without their consent.

While the benefits are clear, there are several concerns that might necessitate this regulation. They can cause myriad of issues without proper care and maintenance such as overgrowth, damage to infrastructures, safety hazards, and many more.

We want to make it clear that the Ferrea Residents’ Association (RA) does not support any activities that violate local regulations. However, we fully support any efforts by residents to enhance our residential area with trees and will be happy to provide any assistance to acquire the necessary permissions.

More importantly, we’d like to strongly remind everyone to respect all plants, regardless of who planted them. Damaging or destroying plants or anyone else’s property for that matter is against the law - it is an extremely hostile and intolerable behaviour. RA will not hesitate to report such incident to the relevant authorities.

Let’s work together to keep our neighbourhood beautiful.
