Celebrating the Often not Celebrated
Watching children grow is a truly magical experience. We get excited at every little new words, every new tricks, every funny moments, the laughs and the tears. At some point though, we somehow stopped getting all that excited anymore.
Comparison is the thief of joy - T. Roosevelt.
It is an open secret that the majority of time people spent on their phones is to look at what everyone else is doing, scrolling through an endless stream of seemingly perfect lives. The only time we looked at ourselves it seems, is when we want to see how we’re doing compared to others.
Trying to be better is good. Having a benchmark on what is good is good. But how good is good? For a community like Ferrea, what should we compare ourselves to?
Perhaps the most accurate measure of our progress lies in reflecting on how far we have come from when we were before.
As we step into the year 2025, I was reminded at the baby steps we took as a community just a few short years ago. It’s incredible what can be achieved through small, consistent efforts with a hint of passion to continue improving. Let’s use this opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the volunteers whose dedication and hard work have been the invaluable driving force behind our community’s progress.
I hope that we’ll never lose the excitement to improve this community, at trying out new things and unlocking new milestones. Let’s continue to support each other and never be shy to celebrate where celebration is due.
Happy New Year!
